out for a night? how?

my 10 yr hs reunion is coming up in a few months an hour away from home. ds still wakes up every 3-4 hrs to nurse at night. so two questions:

1) how do i go out for the night and not get tooo engorged? bring a pump with me to the bar? do people do this?

 2) how does ds handle not having me for there for the night? or would you think having dh and ds stay in a hotel room for the night and meet up with them once the reunion is over at 12am?

 

i just can't quite figure out the logistics of this whole thing.

Same here.  The few times I have been out past DS' bedtime, whoever is watching him has put him to sleep in the swing.  I have pumped in a bathroom at a wedding.

If you are planning to stay out for the whole night and will have a hotel room, then pump right before you leave for the reunion and then as soon as you get back to your room.  You can set an alarm and pump when you would nurse if you'd like.

Otherwise, if you are driving there and coming back, then like pps said, just pump in your car when you need to. It won't be as hard logistically as it seems to be now.

DS should be fine so long as you pump enough milk for someone to feed him while your away.  And if I'm going to be away from DS for longer than a feeding, i bring my hand pump & pump in the bathroom or car or sometimes I'll just put on my nursing cover up & pump wherever I'm at ~ like with my girlfriends at someone's house for the evening.
