2nd Trimester

I love beer

DH is at the bar with his friend having a couple beers. I really want a beer. We are beer drinkers (i'm not talking bud light here) we go to Brewfest and beer is the one thing I've missed since becoming pregnant. I really like wine too but I miss beer. And of course a brewery we like finally started bottling something I've tried at a Brewfest before and loved! Now i can't have it. it makes me sad.

Re: I love beer

I've tried another company's NA beer and it was ok, I have another in the fridge from some other company. This will sound weird but I really want a beet beer. Magic Hat makes it, it's called Wacko. I know that's what DH is drinking. I've told him after our LO is born he needs to sneak a good beer into the hospital for me :-) Maybe a Guiness, that's good for breast feeding women

  • I miss beer too.  I'm really wondering how I'm going to make it through football season!
  • yum yum, beer sounds good. Guiness sounds good, esp with oreos!

  • Beer. I love it too. I hate watching everyone sit in the sun with their icy cold bottles, so jealous. And then it will be fall and  Jubelable and Snow Cap will come out...boo...

  • If this makes you feel better, here's  direct quote from my OB:

"One beer is not going to hurt you or the baby.  If you want a beer, have a beer.  Just drink it at home, because people will give you hell if they see you drinking in public."

  • Get one of the NA ones....Becks makes a good one. I drank a few of those during my pregnancy.

Now, I realize that you don't quite get the same effect, but it will satisfy part of what you are craving :)

  • I never liked beer up until the past two years and I crave it now. lol I've stayed away and had a sip a couple times but thats it. About the PP post about having a beer...my best friend had just returned from her family being stationed in germany in January '08. In may '08 she was expecting. Her OB told her beer was fine too she actually said one a week. That being excessive, when she hit 2nd tri I'm pretty sure she drank one a month till LO got here. lol I'm still scared to try it but..her little man is healthy and beautiful!
  • mmmmm...beer...

I've been afraid to say that I miss it out loud!

    BUT I DO!!!?

  • We have a great microbrew and food review - all local stuff- that I had to miss because of a wedding.  I was kind of grateful that we had the wedding as an excuse.  However, I'm really bummed we missed it because it's an excellent event with over 40 microbreweries presenting.
  • I really don't think non-alcoholic brews are not going to cut it, especially if your a real beer snob.

I drink beer.  Not a lot, but I still drink it.  DH and I will share an Oberon when hanging out on the deck or something.  You might not trust me on this but its not a big deal to have a small amount sometimes.  Both beer and wine have been around forever (unlike some of the meds or things they put in our food nowadays) and many of our foremothers drank a bit.

THIS!!  As I sit watching the Bucs preseason game.  All my friends are making plans for tailgating parties and it makes me sad.  Football isn't the same without beer.  :(

  • I've never tried any type of alcohol, but a month or two ago I actually had this weird ... something. I don't know if I wanted what I thought alcohol would taste like or if it was the "bite" that there is in the non-alcoholic versions, or if it was just a commercial or what. But I told DH about it and he brought me home some sparkling grape juice. I'm a carbonation addict, though, so maybe it was the bite.

  • im typicalls a beer drinkiner too (but just budlight mmm :) ) but just the thought of beer/liquor makes me wanna puke. I actually gag when I see people take shots.
  • AHHHHHH BEER!! I miss it so much!! I went from drinking beer everyday, to not a drop in 4.5 months and with football coming up (GO DAWGS!!) it has finally hit me just how much I miss it! :-) My Dr. said that one beer is not going to do any harm to my LO and that when she was preggers she drank one about every other week; still I haven't though...then on my way to work this morning I was thinking about the old days when women didn't have all this prenatal stuff and their kids were fine, and if something did happen to the kid, usually it was caused by the environment and resources (i.e. lack of food/warmth/near by Dr.) So, I say have one if you wanna have one!! I know that when my bulldogs hit the field I will drink a sip or two of one ;-)
