Whew! The bedtime sit-up-a-thon appears to be over...

Jack fell asleep on his own tonight - VERY drowsy - but just softly sang to himself while half asleep in his little crib and then fell asleep!  No crazy sitting up and yelling and crying (like last week - when he first discovered he could sit up on his own.)  It really IS normal that their sleep goes kaput when they hit a new physical milestone - and now it seems to be settling down.  yay!  Of course ... soon we'll hit standing ... oh well!

Wheee!

"When it comes to sleeping, whatever your baby does is normal. If one thing has damaged parents enjoyment of their babies, it's rigid expectations about how and when the baby should sleep." ~ James McKenna, Ph.D., Mother Baby Behavioral Sleep Center, University of Notre Dame

  • Good news!  Cal hasn't sat up since he did so Monday night.  We have seen him moving around a lot with his belly in the air, on hands & knees (while sleeping), so I don't know if that's practicing crawling or sitting up?
