I am a special ed teacher and we had open house tonight. I told one of my little boys who is going into 4th grade that I am going to have a baby in January and he quickly gave me a hug and told me "Good Job"! What a cute response...
has anyone gotten any really cute responses from other kids?

My mom and grandmother were in the car with my boy cousin and my grandmother said "I can't believe Lauren is going to have a baby!" and my boy cousin said "Yeah, all thanks to Tim (my DH)" in a voice that made it sound like a terrible thing. That kind of made me laugh.
The "good job" thing is really cute!
I'm really hoping you teach either JH or HS....
I teach first grade.....I told my class today. One of my students said..."You know, I'm REEEEALLY good at holding babies."
Another said, "Could you bring the baby to school for a picture with us after you have it??" They are just too cute!
Yes, they were both middle school girls...they thought it was hilarious, I was horrified at their reaction.

My sister was 8 months pregnant and I was 3 1/2 months when we told my 4 & 6 year old nieces. The 6 year old just kept looking at me and then at my sister and back again. When I asked her what she was doing, she said, "But your belly doesn't look like her belly." So I explained that at that point the baby was as big as a shrimp, so now when she tells people I am having a baby, she says , "My aunt Vicki is having a baby and its like the shrimp daddy peels". Cute analogy.
I don't go back to school until 9/8, and can't wait to hear the responses from my students!
Went out to dinner last night with my cousins/aunt/uncle. My 2 year old cousin Matt was wanting to play with everyone's food and was being a bit of a pill (he was overstimulated and tired). He reached his fork and touched my chocolate cake I was eating and my 8 year old cousin yells at my aunt, "Mommy! Don't let Matt touch her cake! She's still eating it and I don't want her baby to end up bad like Matt!!"
Apparently being naughty is contagious and I could have gotten his germs
