Hi:
Has anyone taken their child to their four year old check-up yet? My cousin, who is a tad dramatic, told me it's the worst of all of them, the shots hurt like hell, etc...My son's appointment is coming up and he's seriously in a "I hate Mom" phase right now, so I don't think this doctor's appointment is going to help matters much. Is it really that bad? I know shots aren't ever fun, but he's done fine with them in the past, maybe one minute of crying, but no other reactions.
Thanks,
Dana
Re: Four year old check-up
MH took L and it was fine. He had shots we didnt know about (we were told there were no 4yr old shots but were done at 5yrs) I would have taken him if I had known but since it was a shock I was stuck at work.
I was really nervous all morning until dh called. He said that L did fine and didnt cry very much.
I just asked him about it and he says "the dr. man and the dr. girl just held my leg and put in a shot. It didnt hurt hurt, just a little hurt. Then they put on a band aid gave me stickers and I picked them out."
Your DS will be fine. He wont hate you after going to the dr. for shots. Take him to a special big boy lunch afterwards and he will forget all abou it.
