  • wow, i hope ur ok & that nobody near you had it.
  • Maybe you should remind them that pregnant women are high risk and you would appreciate the opportunity to avoid the illness.

  • I would demand to know, it seems illegal for them to keep something like that from people, especially a pregnant woman. Then you can't try and prevent yourself from getting it or catching it early!
  • Call your doc ASAP. If there's the possibility you've been directly exposed, your doctor will probably prescribe Tamiflu for you and want you to get started on it right away.
  • We had one case at our work. (I work in a large office building, we cover 4 floors.) HR told us they disinfected the desk and area around the person but wouldn't tell us where or who, I think to protect the person's privacy.

Don't worry. My doctor didn't seem worried when I called her. Just make sure to take care of yourself and if you notice a fever, etc. call your doctor right away.

I went out and bought wipes and hand sanitizer, that same day, and am just extra vigilent in washing my hands. Try not to freak out, I'm sure you are fine!

  • we also had one at our facility in july. when i asked my boss why it took so long for them to notify pple who were exposed he said they almost didn't say anything b/c it was past the 2 week mark. so i don't think they LEGALLY have to tell you anything just out of respect. and yes i don't think they will tell you any particular info d/t hippa. I think it is complete bull! i mean how are we suppose to protect ourselves when they don't help. i was looking at the cdc's website about rules on reporting cases to employee's and there is nothing also it doesn't say that they have to pull pregnant women it is just nice if they do so basically no protection. good luck to you b/c i know i am scared of it. i talk to my dr tomorrow

  • i have had swine flu this pregnancy it creates a lot of extra mucus so if you get it just keep your nose clear so it doesn't result in pneumonia. I got it at 14 weeks as i visited England and must have caught it on the plane. My temperature did get to 102 but with swine flu you may not get a temperature i took tylenol and took cool baths it went away in a week. It is not as bad as people make out try not to worry. 1 cup of green tea a day and taking garlic tablets also helps destroy the virus faster. When pregnant you should not take tamiflu.
