Dr Brown bottles

Dr. Brown BPA free Polypropylene vs.  Dr. Brown Polypropylene bottles.  Are they the same or is the BPA free ones the same.

Re: Dr Brown bottles

  • Unless it says BPA free it isnt BPA free.  BPA = Bisphenol A We got the wide neck BPA Free Dr. Browns bottles.
  • Loading the player...
  • We got the Dr. Brown Glass-so obviously BPA free.
  • BPA is not used in the polypropylene manufacturing process.

It is, however used in the polycarbonate manufacturing process.

You can tell the difference as polycarbonate plastics are hard and clear while polypropylene plastics are soft and cloudy.

  • I just re-read your post and thought that maybe I should be a little more clear...  The Dr. Brown BPA free bottles are made from polypropylene which, because they are polypropylene, are intrinsicly BPA free.

  • Thank you.  One of the bottles that I have on my registry didn't say bpa free but it said Polypropylene --I wasn't sure if it was the same as bpa free.
