Its a... how do you tell the family?

Hi Ladies, I am fairly new on here so I hope this has not been discussed 500x. Ne way..Yesterday we found out we are having a BOY, YAY! 

We want to tell our family in person. So we are having a party at our house this weekend, to make the announcement. We were going to serve lunch then have cake as desert. We are dying the cake blue, so when our parents cut the cake they will see that it is blue and know that we are having a boy.

The only problem is I am not sure I can keep my mouth shut throughout lunch. Did anyone do kind of the same thing? Or has any one done or heard of a cute way to tell the family?

both of our mom's are out of state so we are instructed to call as soon as we leave the doctor's office today! LOL

We find out Monday. We are having everyone go to my parents house for dinner. We are either going to show up both wearing pink or blue. They'll know by whichever color we're wearing.

Then for dessert we are serving an "it's a girl"or "it's a boy" cake just for fun.

I love the idea of dye-ing the cake!! I think I'll have to steal that idea for when I tell my coworkers!!!

We are doing the same thing, but DH and I wont even know until we cut the cake...so therefore I don't need to worry about opening my mouth
