2nd Trimester

2nd tri symptoms or lack of...

For the past week, my morning sickness (well, all day sickness) has "magically" gone away, as well as food aversions that I had for the past few months. It's silly, but I just don't feel pregnant anymore. People say that this is normal in the second tri, but the m/s especially was a reassurance that things were moving along inside. Now I have no gauge and no growing belly bump yet. Am I crazy for worrying that I feel fine? Anyone else notice a big change from 1st to 2nd tri?

  • Yep.  Same thing happened to me and it was glorious!  Enjoy it!

  • Yes, it is normal. Some women lose symptoms the moment they hit second tri. That happened in my first pregnancy. This time it took a while longer, not until about 17 weeks. But now I feel normal as ever. Enjoy feeling great while you can.

  • for the most part, yes. it's been great because it's manifested itsel as a burst of productivity and focus at work. first tri i felt like i was in a fog so often.  This was a busy busy week, so it couldn't have come at a better time.

That's very normal for where you are. I have felt awesome through my 2nd tri so far. It's reassuring once you finally get a belly and feel the baby move. :)
  • Oh, yeah!  I noticed a huge difference once I hit 14 weeks.  And it was very scary at first becuase I just did not feel pregnant anymore.  I voiced this to my mom last week and she laughed at me.... she said "so the big ol' belly you got there that magically apeared overnight is not proof enough for you?"... I had to laugh becuase she is right - my belly did apear overnight at 16 weeks and there is no mistaking that I am pregnant.

    Have faith!

  • I had very minor morning sickness (only threw up once), but had food aversions and nausea.  Around 13-14 weeks it almost completely disappeared!  And aside from the extra pimples and other very minor changes, I didn't feel very pregnant.  Don't worry though, lots of changes are on their way!  :-)

  • Ugh...I wish.

My first two pregnancies were like that. This one...not so much.

    I'm glad you're feeling well, and a tad jealous ; )

  • You're in that in-between stage where nothing really exciting happens. I had no symptoms in 2nd Tri and everything was pretty un- eventful until my 19 week appointment where we saw the baby and found out the sex. Now I'm feeling him kick and it's exciting again. But there was a good month where nothing was going on!
  • The same thing happened to me around week 17 or so I believe... but around week 19 (currently on week 20 yay!), I started feeling little bubbles/fluttering inside... and that is my little boy moving like crazy! He's an active little booger! But I was completely worried for those two weeks that I had no more morning sickness... luckily for me, my big ultrasound was week 18 so I got to actually see him while I couldn't "feel" him. I'm sure you will be fine. I hate being patient too though! But once you feel him/her move, it's a lot better than the m/s!!
  • Thanks for all of the comments. Hearing all of your similar situations make me feel better!Smile
