What stroller or travel system are you buying & for what features? I want a stroller that reclines flat...most of them only recline to an angle....!! Of course, lightweight, easily collapsible, smooth ride are also on the top of my feature list!! Penny for your thoughts.....I asked for 2nd time moms...because I myself am one and I have learned what you want in a stroller changes after actually having the baby & the stroller you could not wait to have while preggers...no offense!~
Re: **? for 2nd time moms....penny for your thoughts**
It's been 5 years since we had our DD, so we are buying everything new since we didn't keep anything. We actually tried all the strollers/travel systems out at BRU and picked this one:

It is so easy to maneuver and you don't have to use both hands. It also has a ton of storage space below and has a built-in wipes tray on the top by the cupholders. It was super easy to put together too.
I had one of the cadillac strollers,(for the time) purchased by grandparents that spared no expense for their new babies. I wasn't thrilled with it because it was heavy, bulky and I couldn't lift it out with one arm while holding baby in the other.
The plus side was that it was a comfortable ride, with all the adjustments, and the ability to hold bags etc. easily.
My priorities this time are lightweight, easily unfolds and locks with one arm, has larger wheels for our walks over rougher terrain and has a place for a drink, my keys and a basket big enough for essentials.
One that fits that criteria is the Jeep Liberty Limited. A baby car seat carrier will snap onto it (the website tells which ones) which takes care of the full recline. The things I dislike about it are that they say its easy to do one-handed, at 30lbs it will still be heavy. I also do not care for the cheesy play steering wheel or the Ipod feature..neither of which I will use and will probably remove. I love everything else about it.
We plan on using baby slings and wraps for short trips as well. From past experience, I am no fan of dirty grocery cart seats, or of taking up half the cart with a baby carrier. A stroller only works when two are shopping together.
DS will be 5 when this baby is born. Both winter babies.,..in the snowy northeast.
I didn't get a travel system for DS and don't plan on getting one for this baby either. Here's my reasons:
I had a lightweight stroller with DS and plan to get another one for this child. It's the size of an umbrella, but a little more durable and the back does recline for napping. It's an older model of this one. https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3360152
Now, if the baby was going to be born in June, I'd probably lean more towards a travel system, since I'd have opportunity to do walks around the neighborhood.
Last time I had the Chicco Cortina TS. I sold it along with two bases to a friend last year for $100. If you like the TS route then I suggest this one. It was a great stroller if you like that sort of stroller. I hated it. I couldn't walk down the street with a bottle of water without it spilling. It reclined flat I think. It folded up to you rather than you having to bend down to the ground to pick it up. The carrier was heavy but I've noticed they all seem to be.
I bought a Phil & Teds Vibe at the end of last summer right before my son turned two. This folds even bulkier than the chicco, but it's an awesome stroller and I do not use it for my around town stroller. It will be great for travel for us as my son will just be over three when #2 arrives. He still needs a stroller from time to time but not constantly.
I also have a Maclaren Quest that I bought for my son when he was 3m old. This was my go to stroller for almost two years. I still keep it in my car and it goes everywhere with us except for walks and jogs around the neighborhood. That's when I use my Vibe. My Mac is in such good condition despite all of our travel, flights, and running around that it looks brand new and will be perfect for #2.
I suggest making a list of your needs and plans for a stroller. Do you need a jogger? Do you want it just for malls and neighborhood strolls? Do you want lightweight? Do you want a full size stroller for day trips?
