Who else's DH goes out of town?

Mine leaves for 3-4 days every week... it stinks but I know others have it worse.

Do you have any bad habits?  I usually leave dishes and stuff until the last minute when he gets home, and then magically, the place is clean!

Mine sometimes travels a lot for work, and then he may go months without having to travel. (he works from home, but his employer's headquarters is out of state). Right now he's going through a stage where he is traveling 4 times within 4 months, but before this he didn't have to travel for close to a year.

my hubbys military so he leaves a lot.  we got preggo just about immediately after he was gone for 15 months- haha... luckily that means he'll be home for MOST of the pregnancy!!    when he is gone i dont think i really have any bad habits.... i do make sure to clean very well right before he gets home though so i hopefully dont have to worry about it for a few days!

For the past 6 months my DH has had go to London for the company he works for to run the internat'l office there for 2weeks/month while they find a permanent manager.  He's here for 2 weeks, then gone for 2 weeks.  It sucks as he still has to then travel 1-2 days a week for his regular clients when he's home.  Fortunately he and his company have agreed these trips to London will end at the end of Oct, since I will then be close to my 3rd tri and he doesn't want to be away from me for that long closer to the end (they better find his replacement before then or I'm not sure what they'll do!).

Oh yeah...bad habits here!!  I have some dishes in the sink and my clothes are folded but I never put them away until the day before he comes home.  I try to clean the place nice so that he comes home to a clean house and can relax, but while he's gone for 2 weeks, it doesn't matter so much to me.

Mine is out of town for 10 days right now. He is out for 10 days every month and a 1/2. I actually clean my house more while he is gone. I just sat down from cleaning just now! I just do it to keep my mind busy though

Wow, that's a lot... I'm glad it's temporary!  And I feel ya, it doesn't matter that much to me either ; )

This. I am cleaner when he's not here (even though I'm a clean freak most of the time anyway), but when he's home, we'll get lazy and would rather cuddle on the couch and watch tv together than do chores and clean up after dinner. So when he's gone, this place stays spotless, from boredom.

My dh is military so he"s gone a ton. He just left for another tour in Iraq and hopefully he can make it back for his two weeks r & r in time for the birth.... Then its back to Iraq for another 5 months.

 

As far as bad habits go- I dislike washing dishes! Enough said.

My DH travels about 3-4 days every week and has since we have been together (10 years). I am MUCH messier when he is not here! I leave dishes in the sink, laundry doesn't get put away right away, water bottles accumulate next to my bed, the list goes on..... I ALWAYS clean up before he comes home. He always teases me that he is going to surprise me one day and come home early just so he can see the house a wreck. My friends ask me how I do it being a SAHM with my DH being out of town so much but really, it is not that difficult. We have our routine down and plus I don't have to cook when he is not here   When this LO comes it might be a little harder. The house might not be so clean when he gets home from a trip.

Dh is gone 5-6 days a week and until May I was gone 4 days a week. I didn't clean before he came home then. Now, I try to do a little everyday but there are weeks nothing gets done until he is on the plane. The bigger I get the less I get done

BTW, Our husbands have the same job. Where is he based??

He's military...so I guess you could say he goes "out of town."

Not only does he deploy, but he also goes on shorter trips frequently. He'll be gone for a month here shortly, and probably a few other short 1-2 week trips before LO arrives.

I'm *really* bad about not cooking when he's not around...mostly because he's the one that usually cooks. So I'm all about sandwiches and cereal for dinner when I'm solo. I rarely clean, but like you, I go on a mad cleaning frenzy right before he gets home. I watch a lot of bad television, too....

Mine is military too...He just left for Ranger School and will be gone for 9 weeks straight then after 4 weeks of being home his unit is deploying and I don't know if he can arrange his R & R to be the time of the birth.

 Anyway, we are newly married and I am new to being alone so often. I have been a lot more lazy...like watching tv and going to bed early. Also, I have been eating a lot of frozen foods...I know thats not the best. I still have a lot of aversions, so I can't find much to eat. I also have become a little more messy!

My DH is out of town for 2 weeks at a time and is only home for the weekend, then goes back for 2 more weeks. It is so hard because I have 2 kiddos now a 3.5 year old and a 18 month old and I am also "rest" due to placenta previa.

My bad habits would be "trying to keep the house clean" but it's been a challenge.
