Babies: 0 - 3 Months

EPers - Question for ya.

How much do you get on a typical day & How many times do you pump?  My pedi said I have to feed DS from a bottle for the next 48hours to see how much he is getting, I have a stash that I can use but typically when I pump I get about 5oz (one side) in the morning, then lucky if I get 2oz later in the day.

Also if you have a 4month old how many oz each feeding do they eat?

Re: EPers - Question for ya.

  • I pump 7x a day and get about 4-5 oz each time, except I get about 8 oz my first pump of the morning. I get between 30-40 oz per day. Babies usually eat 2-2.5 times their weight in ounces per day. HTH!

  • thanks.  so he is 13lbs1oz and should be eating about 26-28 oz per day?

I give him 5oz bottles when he eats - does that sound right?

  • I pump 4 times a day and get 48-52 oz. My little one is only three months-ish but he is taking 7 bottles of about 4.5 each.

  • Anywhere from 26-32 oz. How much he takes at a feeding depends on how often he eats. 5 oz makes sense if he eats about 5-6 times a day (so about every 4 hours). My DD eats about 3 oz at a feeding, but she is younger than your DS and only goes about 2.5-3 hours between feedings.
  • I pump 4-5 times a day and get 7-9 oz each time.  DD eats 3.5-4oz at each feeding, every 2 hrs during the day and only wakes up once for a 4oz bottle.
