2nd Trimester

Would you call or assume all is fine?

We had our U/S last Thursday and I remember my doc saying she would call ASAP if anything seemed abnormal (I went to an imaging center, not the doc's office). Should I just assume all is good?

I know they have the results, so part of me wants to give them a call to check. I had to move up my next appt. by a week due to a work conflict, so I won't be in again for another three weeks.

  • I never got a call back either, so I assumed things were fine, and waited until my next appt to make sure. Everything was good. I don't think it would be a bother to call and ask them though :)

  • if you're bored and want to call...then call. But really, all is fine if they haven't called you!
  • I personally would assume everything is ok, but if it makes you feel better give them a call!  Your peace of mind is important.

  • Chick? Call and see if everything is ok. 1) You'd rather know now in case you need to make a sooner follow-up appointment and 2) You'll quit second guessing yourself and adding stress that isn't needed anyway. Call, all they can tell you is they don't have the results yet. I would do it and get it overwith.

Keep us posted Momma. We all wanna know how you're doing.

This exactly. I have my next apt tomorrow. I am assuming he will tell me everything was just fine. If it weren't they would not have not called.

  • I was in the same situation.  My doc never called with the results, but I go in today so hopefully we will go over them.  My u/s was 8/10.
  • Yup, same thing was said to me. I did call just b/c I wanted to know for sure. All was fine. With doctors, I find that it is mostly the case that no news is good news! But I would not hesitate calling, that's what they're there for.

  • I also went to an imaging center... and I plan to call even though it is safe to assume everything is fine. I'm going to call because I got my quad screening done at my last visit as well. But it's personal preference if you wanna call or not :-) Good luck!
  • My appointment with my midwife was 2 weeks after the big U/S too.  During the U/S, the tech said everything looked fine and then the midwife confirmed everything was fine during my appointment.  I've had a quite a few tests where they said they would call if there was a problem;  there never was a problem and they never had to call me.  I wouldn't sweat too much over this.  In the past, whenever I've had an abnormal test result, my doctors have always called right away.
