Ear pierced daughters COME IN!

Sooo they charge $50 to pierce ears at the doc which is where I had Madison;s done....SO I was thinking man $50 is A LOT of money, but the only other place is the mall...DH sugg. going there.....Im not sure how I feel about a min wage teenager putting holes in my kids ears, BUT its like LESS than half price......

Think Im overreacting??  or dont chance it go to the doc!?

Re: Ear pierced daughters COME IN!

  • I took dd to WAL_MART monday. and it cost $25.00 and so far so good. They two ladies that did it were very nice, and knew what they were going.

  • DD's ears have yet to be pierced...

But I'd spring for the dr's office.  If it was $500....  no.  But $50 isn't that big of a deal for your peace of mind.

When I did esthetics I pierced ears.  I did a good job, but I could see where a young dingbat could be careless.

  • We had M's done at Piercing Pagoda (in the mall) and it was an older lady working in there.  All we had to pay for were the earing, which  were about $30.  I am taking S there too.  They were really good with M!
  • We took B to Claires in the mall and never had any problems.

  • NEWS FLASH DANI!  I took Paige to the doctor and had hers done - they got one perfect and the other WAY TOO CLOSE TO HER FACE!  I was pissed!  I had to take it out and let it grow close and had it redone by a family friend!  I would take my next daughter (if there is one) to claire's or some place that does it all the time!  I wanted to take her some place that I knew they would be gentle with her - well they were gentle but totally messed it up!

    Ditto.

  • I had my daughters pierced at Claires and never had an issue.

  • We went to Claire's, but the manager did it. I wasn't going to let just anyone do it, but no one else WOULD do it on such a little baby, they were too scared.

And we still paid 30 something

  • I think I paid something near $30 total.

Took DD to a little girls salon/spa place that does it.  Two of the managers did it (they were older) so I was confortable with them doing it.

Go with whatever you feel comfortable with.

  • We went to Claire's at the mall because our pedi doesn't do it & they reccommended we go there. A teenage girl did do ours but they mark a dot with a pen where the earrings are going to go and you approve the marks before they pierce. We didn't like one pen mark so we had her redo it...no big deal. Her piercings ended up perfect.

  • We went to Claire's also. My mom said she'd be more comfortable with us going there where they pierce ears all day long rather than the doctor's who doesn't. My niece had her's done at the pedi's office and never had a problem either. Both places can be great but either place can mess up too.

    This!

Only because I didnt know the doctor did it (didn't occur to me to ask...) Anyhow, they cost about $30 and the girl marked DD's ears before piercing and made me inspect and approve! :)

  • Yea I guess I never thought that they DO do it all day long and your right about the pen...thats where I had mine done  (piercing pagoda) same as Claires, etc.   OK maybe wont be too bad then.  Thanks!!
