  • No, not really.  I hate it.  Stick out tongue

Maybe I just don't know how to use it.  I don't know.  I picked something up yesterday at 145 bpm.  Not sure who that was, but whatever.  I swear they like Fing with me.

    How about you?

  • well, MH wanted to try it.  he found the one on the left-hand side, but only very briefly.  the doppler read 151.  ??  still can't find the one by my belly button for more than 2 seconds.

my mom says they roll away from the transducer.  i am thinking about taking it in to my next OB appointment to see if he can give me any pointers - or if he can even get it to work.  he found them both in like 2 seconds with his little doppler.

  • I have never had my Peri use the doppler.  He just does an ultrasound and narrows in on the flashing heartbeat and then we listen to it that way.

  • oh, i'm not seeing a peri. i'm just seeing my regular OB, and they only do growth u/s's once a month starting at 16 weeks.  other than that, he just listens to the h/b on his doppler.  the only reason i would have an earlier u/s is if he can't find the h/bs.

i was going to see a peri, too, but all of the OB's at this practice are pretty knowledgable; they just delivered a set of quads!  and they work inside the only level III hospital in the area.

who knows - maybe i'll change my mind later.

  • I would probably feel comfortable with an OB as opposed to a Peri if they weren't identical and sharing a placenta.  But once we saw that they were identical, my RE told me to cancel with the OB and start up with a Peri, and she told me I'd have to deliver at the hospital with the Level III NICU (which is 30 miles away as opposed to 5).

It's all good, though.  I like the extra ultrasounds.  :)

  • yeah, that's true about the identical thing.  a lot more potential issues to deal with.

and i am jealous about your extra ultrasounds.

my next OB appt. is not until next friday morning.  if i get any tips about using the doppler i will let you know.

ooh, and my NT scan is next tuesday, 9/1.  was your NT in 3D?  i thought someone said their's was.

  • My NT was not in 3D, but it was on a waaaaaay better u/s machine than they have at the RE's office.  It was pretty cool!  Make sure your bladder isn't empty.  I guess it helps to have at least a semi-full bladder.

  • cool, yeah, all of my u/s are actually done at the peri's office in the same hospital.  maybe they will hazard a guess as to what i'm having.  i'll be 12w6d from the date of ER.

    i think it's 2 boys.  you still think you're having 2 girls?

  • I am going to ask my Peri to take a guess a week from today.  I'll be 14w3d.  If not, I am hoping to know at 16 weeks.  I still think it's 2 girls.  :)
