DH swears I'm neurotic about movies.

We are both huge movie buffs and always watch a movie before going to bed. Apparently I am insane because of my "movie rules".

1) I will not watch a movie where a child or animal is harmed in anyway. This can sometimes get in the way as some of my favorite movies do this. for example. American psyco...Christian Bale kills a homeless man and his dog (run out of the room at that point)

2) Rape scenes. I can't handle them. They make me nauseated and lightheaded and I alwasy end up crying even though I know it is just a movie.

3) Hate Crimes. Again can't stand them...One of Dh's favorite films is American History X. This movie includes a hate crime a rape and a child getting killed.

on the other hand...I love slasher films of the 70's and 80's...which always include teens getting killed. And for some reason...it doesn't bother me. Of course if Jason ever kills the family dog I would vow to never watch the movie again! And The Evil Dead...love that movie! Even though it does have a rape scene (albeit the girl is raped by demon possed tree's and not a human)

Last night we watched Fargo (which I have surprisingly never ever seen)

I laughed hystericlly for most of the movie.

ok so maybe I am a littlle neurotic.

 how bout you ladies? Any crazy movie rules you have for yourself?

I'm not too neurotic about movie content, but I do have a Fargo story.  I dated a guy for a while in college.  Our first date was to Fargo.  He got up partway through, went outside an threw up because it grossed him out that bad.  When my Grandfather died, he came to the funeral but stayed outside most of the time because the idea of a body made him sick to his stomach.  On the flip side, he was an avid hunter and had no problem killing animals.

lol You know I kinda laughed at the whole woodchipper scene. DH thought I would be in a panic the whole time over the pregnant cop...but I wasn't...she is kinda my hero now! lol.
