I took it before I got pregnant but I dont think it's safe for during pregnancy, my doctor made me stop. It definitely works, but sometimes it can take a few days to a week to start working because it needs to build up in your system.
I used to be a research assistant on a melatonin study and from everything I've researched and heard, it is NOT OK to take during pregnancy. It is a hormone. I swore by this pre-pregnancy but stopped taking it as soon as we started trying to conceive.
Only the natural stuff -- I've slept SOOOO much better (in general) since starting to wear an eye mask when I sleep. It's best if you can get darkening shades and completely block out all light (digital clocks included) but DH can't stand it that dark, so the eye mask was our compromise. Turning off TV/computer screens an hour or so before bed really helps as well.

My DH ?uses it and swears by it. ?It helps him to sleep and he doesn't wake up groggy.
Not sure if it is ok during pregnancy.?
I take 50mg of Benadryl if I can't sleep (same thing used in Tylenol PM w/out the Tylenol). That recomended by my doctor and it really helps.
I used to take it, but google said it's not okay during pregnancy. It did work though.
Sadly Benadryl doesn't do anything for me....
