Best & most economical side-by-side stroller

Sorry - I'm sure this is asked all the time, but I don't get on much these days...

What is your recommendation for a side -by-side stroller that is light weight, affordable, & and is able to fit thru doors/aisles at stores ( is this the criteria I should be looking for - anything else?)?

I also have a 2 year old - so if there is any side-by-side stroller ( other than Valco w/toddler seat) that has a component that would also seat/ride my toddler, that would be really helpful too)! TIA

Re: Best & most economical side-by-side stroller

  • there really isn't anything other than getting a triple stroller, a Valco twin + toddler seat, or a Joovy Big Caboose that will take twins + toddler. (there is one but it's made overseas and even more $$ than the Valco  - the adventure buggy)

if your 2 y/o is able to- you can get a hitch hiker board that will fit on most strollers- but i know my 2 y/o would not stay on that  and it would end up dangerous- we're waiting until he's older to use it.

the big caboose does not get good ratings. it's really hard to turn.

  • This is what we have and I love it.

You can find it cheaper probably elsewhere though...I got mine for $180 and free shipping.

  • Combi, its a great stroller.

  • I have a friend with a SBS Combi and she loves it.
  • We sprung for the City Mini, but we had a $150 GC and a 15% off coupon so it only cost us a little over $200. If I were trying to keep it under that I probably would have gotten the Combi ... or possibly the Maclaren Twin Triumph or the Inglesina SBS. (It's discontinued and I saw them for under $200; it was given an "A" by Baby Bargains last year.)

  • This  is what I have and I really like it. I also have a toddler and short of getting a triple stoller there aren't many options. We just decided to keep our single stroller as well so if all of us go somewhere one can push the double and one of us can push the single. Or you can wear one baby and push the other two in the double. I figured the last option would work best for us because my 2 yo doesn't like to stay in the stroller for too long anyway so when she walks both babies can be in the stroller.
