Baby turning

Has anyone had or heard of a breech baby turning after 36 weeks? At my appt last Fri, the midwife found LO's heartbeat almost in my chest so she's assuming that he's breech. I have an u/s scheduled for the 31st (37 weeks) and she said if he doesn't turn by then he most likely won't so we'll schedule a c-section between 38 and 39 weeks. I am feeling a little nervous about it and wanted to know if any of you had success stories to share.

Re: Baby turning

  • My baby turned at 36 weeks, and I have heard of babies turning right up until you are in labor - so anything is possible! I had been seeing a chiropractor who practiced the webster technique on me which I attribute to our baby turning, but I have also heard good things about accupuncture. Don't give up hope yet, there are lots of things you can do, also check out spinningbabies.com and try get into a swimming pool to help turn the baby.

    Good luck!

  • I'm in the same boat. But my LO is transverse. I have an appointment tomorrow and will then schedule an ultrasound. If fluids are good they are going to try and manuelly turn him. If by chance that doesn't work, then I will be getting a c-section.

  • I'm only 33 weeks so I know I still have 3 weeks for her to turn, but I hear ya. Every appt, I am told, " you need to talk to that baby and make her turn because she has til 36 weeks and most likely won't turn after that. I have heard stories of babies turning after that but don't know anyone personally that has. I too was told if she doesn't flip by 37 then I will have a scheduled c-section, which I guess is ok with me cuz then I don't have to wait as long to meet her, but at the same time I really don't want a c-section.

  • She's a midwife and didn't even mention the possibility of doing a version?? That's just sad and wrong.

    Things to try:

spinningbabies.com, chiropractor certified in webster technique, accupuncture, a midwife with a good version rate.
