3rd Trimester

Anyone else feel organs rubbing together?

This question is probably mostly for elders - I just started feeling this last week or so.

When I eat or drink and then sit back, if I breathe deeply I can feel (and hear!) stuff rubbing together inside me!

I asked my OB about it at my last appointment and she said it's normal gastrointestinal stuff, and that I'm just running out of room in there. It freaks me out!

Anyone else have this?

  • Um, ok, I missed what exactly was side-eye worthy about this post?

OB says it's common in short women (I am 4'11"). Congrats if you're lucky enough not to be experiencing it - it's odd and uncomfortable - but sorry to ruin your fun... it's real.

    HAhahahaha...

Dear, I think your OB was just humoring you! Maybe you feel like your organs are rubbing together, and they ARE squished, but in no way can you actually FEEL them rubbing together....

I'm 5'1", and felt like everything was squished with T...because it was!

  • I'm not going to argue over whether or not it's possible for me to feel what I am feeling daily.

My OB didn't claim to know what exactly is rubbing together, and neither do I. What she said, and I think she knows a little more about it than any of us, is that the sensation of organs rubbing together after eating or drinking is common in late pregnancy and nothing to worry about.

I was just wondering if anyone else has ever felt it.

  • I am 4'11", was about 125 lbs when I gave birth to both my kids, and the first response here is exactly what I'm thinking.
