i always thought the safest place in the car was behind the driver (i learned that in driver's ed), so i always planned on putting the car seat behind the driver's seat...
but then i was thinking this morning, what if the side airbags deployed, would it tip the car seat over and/or hurt the baby? or what if a car hit mine on either side? so would this mean the middle is the safest??
but then what if i was rear-ended or stopped short, would this cause the car seat to fly forward??
i realize that i cannot prevent everything, but i was just wondering if there was an appropriate place where car seats are supposed to go. any insight?
thanks in advance!!
Re: car seat question
The middle is *usually* the safest place. The car seat won't fly forward if it is installed properly. There are exceptions to the "middle is the safest" rule, though. You need to read your car's owner's manual to be sure.
thanks!! i found an article that kind of answered my own question
i should have googled first, haha.
