anyone else's 8 month old stop taking naps?

i have tried laying her down several times today.  all she does is crawl around her crib saying dadadada.  she will not go to sleep. she is in the crib right now for the night and she is still awake kicking her legs around and babbling!
she is like all of the sudden the energizer bunny.  what is going on??

our ds did this at about 7 1/2 months. went from 3 proper length naps to one short in the am and maybe 1 hr in the afternoon. still doing it so it must be ok for him. i think he has realized he has too many things to pull apart in my house so there is no time for sleep!

her naps suck lately. my new plan is to only put her down when i know shes exhausted. i'm sick of fighting her.
