DH and I have been kind of watching our daycare for a while. There's been a lot of turnover, especially with some favorite teachers, so I have just been watching. In the infant room where DS is going, they already fired one of our favorites who is our regular sitter (she and the lead teacher didn't get along) and just found out our other favorite is being moved to another room as a lead there. That leaves only the lead teacher from last time and now 2 new people. The lead teacher I wasn't overly fond of -- we got along fine but I could tell she didn't view DD as a favorite and was annoyed that the others liked her so much (not surprising really -- in all modesty, she was a cute, easygoing and very happy baby). And I heard she is very difficult to get along with from a staff perspective, which just given my observations, I can easily believe. So we have requested to be on the list to move over to the other infant room where I am a little more confident in the abilities of the 2 teachers there who have been there a long time. The administrator says she will handle it discreetly to avoid hurting the lead teacher's feelings but given she typically has about as much tact as a sledgehammer, I'm not optimistic. Gotta love DC drama...
