Posting pics of other kids on FB?

Do you think its okay to post pics of other peoples kids on FB, if your DC is in the pic too?  I took some pics of McKayla playing with another little girl at my friends daycare the other day, I kind of know the other parents (we actually bought our house from them) but I wouldn't say we really know them.  Anywho, do you think it's okay to post the pics on my FB or should I edit the other little girl out.  I don't think I would care but I know some people are private when it comes to pics of their kids.

Re: Posting pics of other kids on FB?

  • Just set the album privacy to 'friends only' and don't sweat it :)

  • I don't usually post them unless (a) I've asked the parent or (b) I know the parent pretty well and they have pics posted too (and I set them to 'only friends' can view).

I personally don't care but I know some people who really freak out.

  • If thier parent is fb friends with me and they post pictures of thier lo, I will post the picture. I normally tag the parent so they know it is there. If it someone that I don't know that well, I don't post them on facebook.  Some people are really sensitive about and your never know there maybe a reason why they don't want pics of thier LO posted.

  • I don't think it's ok, even if you set it to friends only.  That means all of your friends can see it, and the parent probably does not know every single one of your FB friends.  My SIL posts pics of DS to her page, and I don't like it.  (Yes, I know it's weird I feel that way when I have a pic of him in my sig.  Whatevs, he's my kid, I can feel how I want.)

I would either edit out the other kids or just not post the pic. I mean, I'm sure it's cute but it's not going to be the end of the world if it's not on your FB page.

  • I only post pics if I know the parents post pics on fb. Most people wouldn't mind but I think some people get weirded out by their kid's picture being on the internet. If your not close enough to ask them about it I wouldn't post them.
