Type of BR:  Strict, just get to go to the bathroom, shower ever other day, but I have to use a shower seat.
Since when: 8 weeks (2/13)
Reason: It started with a SCH. At 14 weeks I had massive bleeding and needed two blood transfusions. I also have partial placenta abruption.

Type of BR: strict bedrest with bathroom privileges and the occasional trip downstairs to the recliner. All meals are delivered by my DH as I do not want to spend anymore time than I have to putting pressure on my cervix!

Reason: during my BIG ultrasound they found my cervix 1.5 cm dilated and I went in for an emergency cerclage. Hoping to hold on to this pregnancy as long as possible as I was given a 50, 50 chance....would love to beat those odds!!

Reason:  one episode of spotting, vag US showed cervical funneling.  no risk factors, first pregnancy, no spotting since that one time

Reason: Intense BH Contractions the night of July 27. Went to Hsp. next morning was put on the monitor was having more then 6 an hour. Two shots to relax my uterus and was sent home on bedrest.

This pg I have been getting P17 shots weekly starting at 16 wks and biweekly us starting at the same time. At my visit last week my cervix shortened from about 30-31 to 29 but when pressure was applied it went to 27 so dr. wants me off my feet

Reason: Went from 3.7cm to 2.4cm within 3 weeks, and Baby A (girl) is only in the 9th percentile for weight (1 lb 11 oz).  Baby B is doing great and checked in at 2 lbs (45th percentile), so I'm ordered to eat every 3 hours and make it fattening

Reason:  Contractions, Dizzy spells when upright, GD, 2 clotting disorders, and history of Pre E, PTL, 3 abruptions (one of which was a full term still born), and 3 m/c.

My mom and I get a long and she is helping me a lot with DS while on bed rest and I am really grateful. I am one of 6 kids and she is pretty close to all of us, but depending on what is going on and who needs her more - that is where she will be.... She can be a little annoying at times and has gotten more selfish as she gets older - but I attribute that to her raising 6 kids and never putting herself first. I guess she is making up for lost time. She is pretty and looks amazing for her age but can annoy me by dressing younger than she should at times - not overboard but could be different... anyway, I think she would love to be in the delivery room but I would never let her. She thinks she is a pro at birthing babies and hell, I guess she is after 6 but she loves to tell people how to do things. I am having a c/s so it is not an option for her to be there. All in all, she is pretty great!

Hello ladies,

 Not too much going on. Trying to manage my blood sugars.

 

I have a really good relationship with my mom. She has one of my few support people throughout my time on bedrest. She is a wonderful mom. She will be in the room for our delivery and I wouldnt have it any other way.

Good morning Ladies!  Not too much going on - my c-section is scheduled for a best case scenario on 9/29.  Here's hoping I can make it that far!

QOTD:  My mom and I are pretty much best friends.  We talk every day and she has been super thru my whole pre-e rollercoaster ride.  She comes over at least once a week and cleans my house and does the grocery shopping so my H can have some time to unwind.

 My mom:  We've never been particularly close, and don't have much in common, but I think we've both been making a big effort since BFP.  Our priorities have always been really different, so we don't have a lot to talk about without an argument.  Lately, though, she's been trying to guess the baby's name (we're not telling), sending me texts and emails guessing the name, and asking for hints.  Like, all day long.  It's hilarious, and makes me feel like she's engaged in the process.  No, she won't be in the room.  I'm having a c-section, but wouldn't want anyone but DH there either way.

My mother and I have always had a love/hate relationship.  We had started getting along after my BFP and I was talking to her on a weekly basis (she lives accross the country from me) but in the last few weeks we've had a falling out.... again.  With all my health problems, I really can't handle the stress right now of dealing with it so I've chosen to remain silent.  My step-mom lives here in town but I have no real relationship with her.  Basically, I'm on my own.  My mom has never expressed an interest in being in the delivery room with my other children even when we lived close.  Even if she had, I don't know that I'd want her there.  I'm more comfortable with just DH and myself.

At times it makes me sad, especially when I read about other women who are so close to their moms.  But I also feel very fortunate that I do have a wonderful DH and close friends I can count on when the going gets tough.

I hope that I can have a better relationship with my daughters (21, 19, and the one about to be) than I had with my mom.

Yesterday my husband got into an accident at work and almost lost the tip of his left pointer finger. I know he is in a lot of pain and the pain meds make him really naseous but he keeps wanting me to baby him and I keep explaining that I'm on bedrest! Grrrrr. Other than that woke up with some contractions this morning so I took my medicine and am watching Animal Planet and feeling groogy.

I get along with my mom great but since she is almost 3,000 miles away its easy to call when your in a good mood and screen your calls when you really would rather not talk. She won't be in the delivery room with us but she is coming up with my dad in December for a little less than a week to meet the baby and visit for the holidays.

Good Afternoon.  This is the first chance i've had to get on the internet all day b/c it was down for a while.  I felt lost!  Anyway, no big updates.  I'm anxious about my OB appt tomorrow.  The will tell me if they are modifying my bedrest and i have my 1hr glucose tolerance test.

QOTD: I'd say i'm fairly close to my mom.  we talk on the phone every week or so, but don't see each other very often because she is 3hrs away.  The only thing i wish were different is that i wish she would call and visit more.  I've been on bedrest for 6wks now and everyone and his brother has come to see me except my mom.  She has recently become an empty nester though, so i should try to understand she is enjoying not having 4kids at home anymore.  I think during our delivery we are only going to have my DH and me.  My mom has never mentioned wanting to be in the delivery room, but if she did, i think i would say no....

QOTD-My mom and I get along pretty well...much better now than say 5-10 yrs ago, lol. But she has two really annoying habits. One, she is constantly obsessed with weight. Hers, mine, my sisters, etc. This is even the reason she is single. She says all men her age have beer guts and she finds them replusive. This is an extremely sore subject with me, who has been over weight for the last 5 yrs. 

The other issue is money. My mom never has any....because she's terrible with it. And constantly complains that she doesnt have any, and hardly ever wants to go do something because she is either too broke and just wants to stay home, or is picking up extra shifts at work. She has even mentioned that if baby isn't born between Sunday-Tuesday, she may not make it to the hospital until after because she just cant take off work. She is going to watch our LO one day a week starting this fall, but asked that we pay her...and while I'm happy to do that, it was a little akward. She even asked for a regular sitters rate, and its her own grandson. But I'm more comfortable with her watching him than a stranger, so we'll give it a try!

I really wanted her to be in the delivery room so that she could be in charge of the camera and video recorder so DH can focus on me, but I dont know if she will even be there and DH prefers it just be the two of us, so it probably won't happen.
