  • I want pics when you're done.
  • Loading the player...
  • I smell sushi in your future.

  • Ohhh.. memories. I'm not going to lie to you.. it will be hell. But when it's all done and you have a beautiful new, functional and functioning kitchen it will all be worth it. Kinda like giving birth... LOL
  • BUT I WILL FINALLY HAVE A DISHWASHER!!

*angels are circling me as i type that*

  • I am glad you wrote, "at least 2 weeks...."  Perhaps count on more.  And, it truly stinks.  Put your coffee maker in your bathroom.
  • Whatever the contractor says, I always double the time in my head. I have found this to be true pretty much every single time. The costs are usually quite close to their original quote, but the time should be doubled. Maybe your guys will prove me wrong!!

well it's a small kitchen, and no knocking down of walls or anything huge is being done.  I think the biggest wait will be for our countertops ugh

  • Good luck.

My dh and fil redid our kitchen last summer.  It was pure hell.  We ate freezer/microwavable meals.  I don't think I can even look at "tv dinners" anymore...barf.

You're lucky they said only 2 weeks.  I went for 3 months w/o kitchen, but it is so great when it's over and you have a beautfiful new kitchen!

this alone is worth every inconvenience of kitchen remodeling. we run our dishwasher 1x a day.

  • Embrace the crockpot. When we re-did our kitchen, I turned the dining room into a modified kitchenette. Crockpot, microwave, electric skillet. I even drafted my gigantic Thanksgiving/Christmas/Easter roaster oven into service. (I even baked homemade bread in it, just to see if I could.)
