Do I need the conversion rails for crib?

Just thought I'd ask some moms who already have their cribs.  I know your babies are not ready for a toddler bed/full size bed yet, but I am wondering if I can just use a regular bed frame for the full size and remove the front for the toddler.

I'm not big on the look of the footboard with the crib we like and the room isn't really big enough for it either!

Any info on this? I appreciate it! Thanks :)

    It really depends on your crib.  Some just use a regular bed frame and the back of the crib as a head board.  Others need a conversion kit.
