WWYD? babies on a boat

my friend's H is a captain of a boat well its a yacht so it's big anyway she invited us out with her on sunday but I'm scared to take DD on the boat - am I being crazy? ?I'd love to go out who wouldn't but I'm concerned about being on water with DD.

?would you go just bring your own life jacket? I've seen them but DD looks so small for them.

i'm one of those nervous mom's ugh...?

  • We own a boat and Lil has been on it many times this summer.  What age is your LO?  Sams has infant lifejackets.

  • We've been on several times this summer, just bring an infant lifejacket and have fun!  The boats we've been on are nowhere near the size of a yacht!
  • Before we sold our boat (sniff...sniff...) we took DS out on it quite a few times.  Just make sure you buy a Coast-Guard approved life jacket.  They're somewhat warm, so make sure you keep your LO in the shade as much as possible (and to avoid sunburn), or wipe her down with a cool rag.  And by the way, our boat was a 20'...much smaller than a 'yacht' so you'll be fine!

I definitely would, and yes, I'd probably bring my own life jacket just to make sure it fit well.  In fact, I'd get one of those full swimsuits that has floaty things built into it to make sure the baby couldn't slip otu of the life jacket.

  • My parents own a boat and so we've been out almost every weekend, and DS loves it. Just make sure you use plenty of sunscreen on DD and keep her in the shade, as well as an infant life vest. Go and have fun!
