Anyone take amoxicillan while breastfeeding?

I have an infection and this what the doctor finally decide to prescribe (after I had to call her back when the original prescription said not to take if breastfeeding).  Anyway she said it would be fine to take as long as my LO isn't allergic to penicillan.  Well I have no idea.  As far as I know he doesn't but he is only 6 months.  He was on an IV when he was born for an infection but I don't know what was in it.  Anyone taken this before while breastfeeding?  Any reactions?

    Same here. And look at it this way - better to find out through a small dose via BM that your LO is allergic than a full straight dose. Odds are fine your LO isn't allergic though, don't worry. DH is, so DD stood a chance, but so far so good. 3 times on it for ear infections, plus my penicillin through BM and she hasn't shown any signs of an allergy.?
