I've never been so out-of-shape in my life! Under drs orders b/c of my super high-risk pg, I stopped working out in February. Then at the beginning of June I was put on bedrest and for about a month I barely moved. All that time I was trying to gain weight for my multiples (and suceeded). I also only lost a few of the 20+ lbs I gained during the pg. Now I was given the ok to start working out again only a couple weeks ago, but I can't seem to do it! Little things like going for a walk at any quicker pace is even hard for me. So, I think I have both a physical and mental block about working out even though I KNOW it will only make me feel better in every way - mind, body, soul.
What has helped you? What do you do to work out?
I can't help but wish I was walking a stroller full of two little guys around my neighborhood or breastfeeding them to help the weight come off...
Re: How did you get back into working out?
I run and play tennis a few days a week. And since we're in the middle of hurricane season and it pours rain every afternoon, I use my Wii Fit a lot too.
I'm just getting back into my regular routine though. My Dr. wanted me to take it easy for a while to give my body a break.
I'm already feeling much better since I started exercising again.
Good luck!

I am trying my hardest to get back into my pre-pg workouts again. I went at least every other day to the gym then. If walking fast is too much at this point, just try and take a short slower paced walk, everyday. Slowly push yourself to walk a little faster when you feel up to it. Do they have any Planet Fitness around where you live? I have a membership there, and it only costs me $10 a month for their basic membership. That's what really started me working out to begin with. Now I try and take our dog for walks often, he loves it when I jog with him. Just take baby steps until you're ready to push yourself to the next level!
Good luck!
Honestly, I lost about 15 lbs. when I was pregnant (I know, not good). I had really, really awful morning sickness and had a hard time keeping anything down. Well, when I lost my little one, I figured I was going to make the best out of a tragic situation. Since I lost so much weight, I was going to keep it off. What really motivated me was the desire to get myself in better shape before TTC again. I never used to eat well before my pregnancy and it was like pulling teeth to get myself to commit to any form of exercise regiment. I want to be healthier the 2nd time around.
I started working out in the mornings because the first couple of weeks after my loss I kept waking up early in the mornings and wasn't able to get back to bed. I figured that it wasn't so bad getting up extra early and realized I could take the time for small workouts before I had to get ready for work. I'm on week 5 of doing this and now I look forward to it every day.
I don't push myself to do things that I don't think I can do. I only workout for about 20 min. which is enough to help me jump start my day. In addition to that, I also try to find things that I enjoy doing (going to the golf range, taking long walks with my husband and puppy, going swimming) and add those in occaisionally.
Just take it slowly. Don't feel like you have to go gung ho with your exercise. You will eventually develop your workouts into something that you enjoy and hopefully will notice a difference in yourself both physically and emotionally. Good luck!
Good Luck!
