WWYD: job opening

A sales position has opened up here.  I am back and forth on if I should apply.

Pros: no holidays, weekends, better pay, company car/ gas, more freedom as far as my time

Cons: I don't really like sales, a lot of driving to upstate NY, probably more but different bullshiit, working from home (I like structure), would need to manage myself more.

Also, I told a friend about it and said I wasn't going to apply.  I don't think he would care if I did, but I'd feel terrible if he didn't get it an I did.  of course, he had applied for it before and didn't get it, so I might be worring about nothing.

Shiit.  I don't know what to do.

Re: WWYD: job opening

  • Apply, but tell your friend you reconsidered.  If they offer you the job, you don't have to take it if it doesn't seem like something you'd be able to deal with during the interview.

  • At least apply and interview and see what you think.
  • Definitely apply.  You can evaluate the situation if and when you get the job.

  • Apply, tell your friend that you reconsidered, then decide.  It is no use trying to make a decision when you don't know whether both options are available to you.

But, I might also just be lazy and say sckrew it.

  • apply. you never know, you could love it.
  • apply. then chaulk it up to getting interview experience/practice.

I tell my h to do that every chance he can.

I agree. They'll pick the best person for the job and if that's you he will just have to get over it.

Working from home isn't bad once you get over the initial adjustment too.
