Why is that I think I know this, and yet am still constantly surprised by how true it is?
We met with a possible new pedi today - since we moved I wanted to find someone a little closer. She was very sweet and fun with him, but I guess he didn't feel like he was getting enough attention from us. He fussed a little so she gave him a big sticker to play with, and like the bad mom I am, I allowed myself to get distracted while he held it.
Ten seconds later we look down and the sticker is gone. Because he had crumpled it up and had it COMPLETELY in his mouth! Well, he got exactly what he wanted because he immediately had the undivided attention of mommy and the nice new pretty lady. Of course he clammed up as soon as he realized we wanted his fun new toy back, but I was finally able to dig it out of his mouth before he attempted to swallow it.
I was half embarrassed that, like an idiot, I allowed my 10 month old to play with a sticker, and half cracking up that he can take possibly the least harmful object on the planet and turn it into an instrument of death in mere moments. Whoops! No more stickers for Leo!
Re: You can't turn your back on them for a second
These babies are stinkers!
That seriously made me LOL. ?And after the day I've had, that's an accomplishment. ?Thanks. ?:) ?And hey- it was the doc who gave it to him!
And you're right- they're such stinkers. ?I found a tiny curled up piece of foil in DS's diaper last week. ?Of course I had to inspect and see wtf it was- it was the seal from a tube of diaper ointment. ?Nice.?
