High-Risk Pregnancy

Hi ladies, Im new to this board and the GP board

I am still ttc right now, but strongly suspect i will be considered high risk for two reasons once i get Pg..

1. type 1 diabetes (diagnosed after I had my two daughters) and..

2. I had Leep procedure done after diagnoses of early stage cervical cancer about 5 or 6 years ago.. this procedure burned or cut off a small section of my cervix.. since that was done no more cells have been found and I no longer have to see an gynecologist oncologist at this point..

any body out there have either or both of these conditions? Im 36 years and healthy otherwise.. anybody out there??? thanks !

  • Hi and welcome to the board!  I have had type 1 diabetes for 4 years.  I am not pregnant, but we are ttc #2.  If you have any questions, or want to chat, feel free to ask me!

  • Hi there!  my last two pregnancies were normal without the diabetes.. hopefully it wont be too bad.. good luck ttc!!!!!!!
  • I had a Leep as well about 8 years ago.  My follow up paps also looked good and my docs said they could hardly tell I had a Leep.  Unfortunately my cervix did not hold during this pregnancy and I had a "rescue cerclage" aka stitch, placed at 23 weeks.  The good news is I am now 28 weeks with 5 weeks of bed rest behind me.  Hoping for a few more good weeks.  I would ask your doctor about a cerclage and what his thoughts are.  Good luck...
