Success after IF

Anyone else anxiety before u/s??

I can't seem to ever relax- I swear IF ruined me- everything has been PERFECT so far but I still have major anxiety before each appt!!

Re: Anyone else anxiety before u/s??

  • Every single time I go for an u/s or for a doctors appointment I freak a little hoping everything will be alright and the heartbeat is still there and baby is on track. Everything is going great for me as well, but sometimes I feel like there has to be a flip side, like life is too good and I am not used to this!
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

  • I hold my breath going on the monitors every morning hoping to hear 2 beautiful h/b's. It doesn't go away, sorry to say.

  • Yes! And that is why I bought a home doppler.  I know some people find them more anxiety inducing, but until I started feeling movement - being able to find the heartbeat whenever I was feeling nervous was a lifesaver for me.

  • Try and take a deep breath sweetie!  I'll be thinking about you!
  • Yep...before the u/s and before the doppler...either one makes me so nervous. IF ruined me as well!

Ditto. My OB said she's having me come in for a growth scan in a few weeks and while I'm excited to see my girl again, I'm also nervous that something will be wrong. I wish it gets better but for most people it doesn't seem to.

  • It's gotten a little better since I can feel her move every day now, but those couple of minutes where the dopplers on my belly but the heartbeat hasn't been picked up yet always put my heart in my throat.
  • I routinely feel like I'm going to toss my cookies before we go in for ultrasounds.  Even though we've seen good heartbeats every time and their growth seems to be on track, albeit behind, I'm still a giant ball of nerves from the time I get up until I see them and hear my RE say everything is okay and that he's proud of me.
