XP: i think i may be starting a mom's group...

this morning, S & i walked to the local coffeehouse.  business was slow, and i guess i was feeling ballsy, because i just walked up to the owners and decided to ask if they were interested in helping me start a mom's coffee hour once or twice a week there.

they said i could put up fliers on the bulletin board, they would mention it to the moms with little ones that they know, and they would mention to people with babies when they come in.  they ALSO said they would do a special price on coffee & a pastry during the time & reserve an area for us.

::deep breath::  now i need to design a flier (flyer?), pick a catchy/not dorky name for the group, pick a starting date and time, and what else?!?!

what was i thinking?  what have i done???  i hope it takes off...

    It'll be fine. ?Just make it a casual venture. ?You could post something on FB if you have an account or start a FB group (free). ?Meetup costs like $30... ?I prob wouldn't sign up there.

    Good for you bw:)  I don't know what I'd do without my mommy friends--my DH would probably have gone bonkers by now if I didn't have them to talk about everything with, too. 

    It sounds like a good plan--what ages are you hoping to have in the group?

    I don't know where you live (besides my mom's basement!), but try to play off the name of the city/area/community/town you live in for the name. Simply make a flier for the first meeting date and at that first meeting discuss what the group should mold into (I'm sure a lot of the women will have ideas!). Things will grow from there.

    oh i have a FB account...  but for a general idea for what internet usage is like in my area, take a look at my area's craigslist:
