I know I'm not supposed to care much b/c I have a beautiful, healthy baby now - but the steri strips just came off yesterday, and my scar/incision line is totally crooked - plus, one side is all raised and knotty/ropey, while the other is perfectly flat and smooth. ?Why the difference, and did anyone have any success with using any OTC scar -treatment products to minimize theirs?
I'm not so concerned about the discoloration - I know that will fade, and it's low- so no one would see it.. But I hate the fact that one half of my scar is raised, and a fat lump of skin hangs over it, where the other side is perfectly neat and flat, the way I want the rest to look. ?The raised side also gets more sore, and painful. ?I am also just really annoyed that it's so damn crooked - my Ob must not have done a great job of eye-balling the straight line when she went to cut. ? I feel like Frankenstein. ?:(

Re: C-sec scar question...
they look HORRIBLE at first - don't worry, they WILL get better. If you have open oozing skin that does not seem to be healing together, have a doc look at it, otherwise I LOVE to put vit E oil on my scars. feels good, stops the healing itch, and helps minimize scars. It takes quite a while for it to go away (as any big scar does) but it will get much much smaller.
Scary though, huh?
