Back from 2nd OB appointment

I am super happy and very relieved that today for the 1st time I heard our LO's heartbeat!  It was exciting   My OB wasn't sure he would find it, as he says that I have a very retroverted uterus, which  made it difficult... but after some searching he found it - it was loud and clear and super fast - at 160 he said.  It was music to my ears.  Finally.  Side from that, I had some blood drawn as a few tests were missing.  He also informed me that due to my retroverted uterus it will be a while before I start to show as well - he thinks another 4-6 weeks...... not what I wanted to hear - I want a bump already!  Guess I will have to wait it out.  And, as I figured, I put on 4 pounds since my last appoinment only 2.5 weeks ago - I am blaming it on the cruise!  In total since the start I have gained 10 pounds - wow - I think the progesterone in oil injections played a a part in that as well....

Overall, a good appointment.  My NT scan will be next week.

So glad you had a good appointment and were able to hear LO's heartbeat! How was your cruise, by the way? Bet it was so nice to spend some time with your DH! I love cruising, so have been thinking about you and how much fun you must have had!

Hey you!  It feels more real now - I have been having lots of negative/nervous thoughts these last two weeks - no real reason to feel that way, just was... so now that I have heard the h/b I feel more at ease....  Thanks for asking about the cruise - I had a relaxing time and got plenty of sun.  It was great to spend the night with DH and get some snuggle time in... sure beats being alone at home in our king size bed...  however, despite the great food and fun, I was very ready to disembark and go home - if all is well I will most likely return in a month, but will only cruise for 1 cruise next time - 2 cruises was just too much I think.

Congratulations on the good appt.  Isn't the hb the most beautiful sound ever.  It was so amazing and brought so much relief to hear ours a week ago.
