I'm finding I absolutely hate the term "tow-head"

Really.  Hate.  It.

Yes, my son is blonde.  Yes, the other 3 of us are dark brunettes.  Can you just say "hey look at blondie over there" instead?

4 times this weekend.  4.

  • xb it's an old people way of saying my kid has light blonde hair.  it's dumb.

  • I've learned that hair color is the only way people can tell whether a child is the actual child of the parents.....I can't even tell you how many times we get comments about "two red heads? where did THEY come from?"

    Thefuckingred headed stork  you fuckingidiot!!!!!!

  • I agree!  Everyone always asks me where my daughter came from. Um, don't you think that's kind of rude? I'm sure they would choke if she were adopted or something.
  • I never liked that expression. Aside from the obvious, it feeling more like an insult, I just don't like the way my mouth feels when I say it.
  • I get it all the time as well, as you can imagine.

Where did it even originate from, really?!  I think I'm going to google now.

  • i think it just means flaxen hair. lol, I could think of a lot worse people could call my son
  • I''m glad you wrote tow-head and not toe-head.  I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE how indignant some nesties get on the toddler board when they think some little old lady has called their child a toe-head.
  • Look at sig picture....I get it all the time with DS.

    ha!

Like Dai said, it sounds too much like an insult or something.  Adding to that, around here it's usually old people who still use the "n" word.... just not liking it much.  (as in, we have a lot of hicks here lol)

  • Where did he come from?

    My vagina, thanks.

  • Well, if I hear "where'd the red hair come from?" one more time, I might kick the person :)
  • My MIL used to say that about 5x a week.  And she's not even white blond.
