Liam is now 9 months and for the most part still eating stage 2 jars of baby food. I've introduced some stage 3 jars but he likes the smooth textures. He also loves YoBaby yogurt. We offer him small bites of whatever we are eating (rice pilaf, bread, pasta, mashed potatoes) but he's not eating any table food consistently. He does snack on a few cheerios. What are other 9 monthers eating?
Re: 9 month babies - what kind of solids?
Hey!! He's getting so big! :-) As for your question, I don't remember exactly what he was eating, but I'm sure he was still eating Stage 2 at that point. I think about 11 months he started eating Stage 3 (not for a lack of trying before then he just wouldn't eat it). Then after he would take the Stage 3's we tried the graduate cups of mac-n-cheese & chicken and chicken and stars. It just took him a while to start enjoying the texture of the Stage 3's. He would eat those puffs like it was his job, but wouldn't stand for a little chunky baby food. :-)
So my recommendation, just keep offering them to him every now and then and don't worry...he'll be chowing down on everything in sight in no time!
I still give DD more stage 2 jars than 3 but we do supplement with table food as well (like cheerios and blueberries in the morning, small pieces of cheese and diced fruit at lunch, mashed up pasta w/meatballs or soup at dinner, etc.) I sometimes make her scrambled eggs of just the yolks and french toast with just the yolks and she seems to like those too. I'm still nervous to give her a lot of bread - they seem like they would get gummy and stuck!
It's funny - she was doing really well with stage 3 pea soup with diced carrots and lately she's been spitting out the carrots! Almost like she doesn't like the texture too much anymore but she will do carrots on their own diced up. She also loves the yobaby yogurt.
Oh, she has 3 bottom teeth but I know they probably use their gums more anyways.
Can you give yogurt at this age? My pedi said no until she was 1 year.
