Probably depends on your area. I personally don't know of any baby/young Evans or Ethans around me...I have been teaching for 11 yrs. and last year we had an Ethan but that was the first one. (know that doesn't help much since those kids are all approx 8 yrs. old)
If you love the name...I honestly wouldn't worry too much. If you're worried you could check out the SSA baby names list for your state or go to babynamewizard.com and see the chart of the name's popularity.
I'm a teacher at an elementary school, and there is only 1 Evan that I can think of in the school. Other than that my DH has a cousin named Evan that is 21 years old. I love the name!
I don't know of any Evans in my mom's group of 60+ families.. or in DD's daycare.

I know several Evans, but it's been relatively popular for at least 15 years, which I think makes it more of a contemporary classic than a trendy name.
Definitely more of a classic name then trendy it has been around forever.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!

DS name is Evan, but we picked it because it seemed more classic than trendy. Maybe it's picking up in popularity...I haven't noticed that in my area. However names in my area tend to be extremely conservative since I live in the heart of Mennonite and Amish country.
Re: Is Evan becoming too popular/trendy?
