M/C and D&C question

I posted yesterday about my day in the ER.  Well, overnight I passed 4 good sized clots and the bleeding has gone down considerably today.  I've had a little bit of cramping today, but no where near where I was.  I go to the doctor tomorrow morning, so I'll get my answer then I suppose, but I was wondering what the likelihood of needing a D&C may be.  I'm guessing only my doc can tell me, but I wasn't sure how prevalent they are.  And I am just trying to pass the time until tomorrow.  I feel like I am in limbo.

I think most d&c's are needed because the body takes weeks and weeks to realize that the baby has died. Generally, if you've started bleeding and passing clots, the chances for needing a d&c go way down. There's always the possibility for needing one still, if your body doesn't pass everything. But your doctor should have you come in several times over the next few weeks to get blood drawn to. check your hcg level and make sure it goes down to zero. Since you've already started passing clots, I'd say your body is taking care of things on its own. Good luck and pm if you need someone to talk to.

I just stopped bleeding. (this is only my experience) my levels were pretty low already and since i had been bleeding, clots, and cramping she just sent me home. she said the only reason to come back soon would be if i got an infection which would mean my body didn't get rid of everything. and she told me the symptoms of an infection down there. so far so good. i am hoping that this has all resolved and i can finally start healing mentally. 

today was the first day with no blood so there wasn't that constant reminder.
