Pregnant after a Loss

2 bags? labor and delivery?

I always hear about having two bags. Do you feel it is necessary to split stuff up, or is it easier to have things seperated? I am working on my bag list so DH and I can get all the stuff together. Here is that I have so far, anything I am forgetting?

Birth cert forms, insurance, wallet, hari clip/bobby pins, pj's and socks for me, power cords for electronics, laptop, camera, videocamera, boppy?, snacks, thank you card and gift for nurses, toiletries, slippers, outfits and socks for Sara, lanolin, 1st photo outfit, baby book for prints, batteries, clothes for DH.

Anything else?

  • You don't need to bring clothes for her (aside from what you are doing pics/bringing her home in)  The hospital provides all of that...and prefer their stuff because they have easier access to the baby, etc.

    1st pregnancy: m/c began 1/12/09 d&c 1/13/09 8wks. Baby stopped growing at about 6wks.

    Delaney: Born 10/15/09

    Gavin: Born 4/8/11

    Baby #3: due July 10, 2014

  • change/dollar bills for vending machines (if DH wants a soda or a candy bar)
  • i would want to bring a robe to slip easily over my hospital dress to run to the bathroom, etc. and shampoo and lotion incase you are there a long time and want to take a shower/bath, etc...

  • I did not use anything while I was in labor. Dh used his laptop and phones to make calls/emails to people.

I used my tooth brush, hair brush, hair dryer, makeup and shampoo on the day I went home. I also put my clothes on that day. Everything else I needed was provided by the hospital.

  • Take flip flops instead of slippers. I learned the hard way after I delivered Giada. I wore a pair of white isotoner slippers to the bathroom and TMI but as I was sqatting down blood dripped right onto my slipper and then I couldn't wear them. Flip flops could be washed off easily and then also worn into the shower...I am a germ freak and always wear flip flops in the shower both at the hospital and when we are staying at a hotel. I passed this info onto friends of mine and everyone took flip flops and said they were soo much better. GL
