We tried maalox last night and it did nothing. This was night # 6 of him crying/eating every 1 - 1/2 hours from 10PM until 5AM. He won't take any more than 4oz per feeding so it's not like we can give him a bigger feeding to satisfy him. Dr. thinks he's comfort feeding.
Did you have to try Zantac or prevacid or something else? Or did you just keep trying different formulas? He's been on the gentlease enfamil for a week and that's when this started so we are switching back to the yellow can.
THANKS!! : )
Re: Another reflux? Did you need prescription meds?
We found that ours had reflux and were sensitive to lactose. We went with the sensitive formula because it doesn't have any lactose.
For the reflux we did Prevacid. It prevents the acid from forming, not treating it once it has formed. This helped ours so much. They were able to eat, and enjoyed eating for once. You have to be on it for a few days to notice the change.

4oz per feeding is GOOD! Grayson fights us with bottles UNLESS they have Mylanta in them... I'm super excited if i get him to eat 4oz - he has been taking about 2 oz lately since his reflux acted up.
He is on prevacid but we are weaing him off- since it's really not doing the job- the GI doc is not 100% confident that it is reflux - thinks it could be a milk protein allergy - since they can manifest the same as reflux. We're going to see how he does with out the meds - and then possibly change to nutramigen.
