So, I have a PeanutShell which was awesome for like a month, now Henry hates it... it's too snug... covers too much of his body... we get too hot (he is a very warm little guy). Tried a bigger size and it wasn't supportive enough... so I think the first one is the right size.. it just doesn't work for us.
I'm looking for something new... I don't think I'm interested in the Moby... I know my limits and think messing with that much fabric is probably more than I have the patience for.
So, I think I've narrowed it down to a Mei Tai or a Baby K'tan...
I like the K'tan because it seems more versatile but I'm afraid it will be too complicated or that we'll get too hot since it's a lot of fabric...
The Mei Tai looks a lot easier and like it would be cooler but you can't really do forward facing with it... and Henry really likes to look out at the world...
What do you think? Have either - love it/hate it? Other ideas??
Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

Re: baby carriers/slings... help!!
I've heard good things about the Ergo.
I'm going to give the Moby a try. I saw some videos on youtube and it doesn't look too hard once you figure out the pattern.
we have a pikkolo, which looks a lot like a mei tai but has buckles. you can do front facing with it and also back carries.
it was expensive though and i don't really like it, it makes my boobs squished. dh loves it.
Can you use the Ergo with the baby facing outwards?

Hm. I'm not sure if you *can* with the Ergo but you definitely can with the Moby and Pikkolo
the baby boutique I went to gave me good advice on carriers...the moby is best for newborns and young infants but like you've found, not as great when they get bigger. the K'tan has the baby's legs just dangling there w/o support (like the Ergo) so babies aren't always comfortable in them, plus it isn't as good for their backs. I can't remember if it was the Becco or Pikkolo but one of them was great except you can't snap the top straps yourself - you have to get someone to do it for you...plus they are expensive. In the end I went w/the Maya wrap...easy to use, many different positions, and it supports the baby's legs. course I have no personal experience yet but that's what I learned at the store and ended up buying
ETA: oops!! I meant to say Bjorn up there, not Ergo (about the dangling legs) - too many carriers to keep straight in my head!! The Ergo, Becco and Pikkolo all get good reviews from what I have seen.

I have both a k'tan and a Mei Tai and love them both.
A K'tan is going to be warm in summer months and only lasted us to 18 pounds before he was just to big for it. However it is EASY! Way easier than a moby!!! WAY WAY WAY!
I love my Mei Tai but if you get one get a 1/2 buckle. Much easier to put it on with out getting the straps on the ground.
if you want to BF in it. *not sure if you are BFing then I like the K'tan better.
Oh and if you are a plus size gal let me know. Mine is a L and if you want to borrow it for a while i will send it to you. i am a size 18 and it fits me well.
