How was your birthday?  Did you end up going out?

It was perfect.  Gf came over and helped me with a bit of file organization for today's trial (which made all the difference in the world since it enabled me to get up at 6 instead of 4:30 today), then we went to Pho Republique and had a great meal. 

But, she had today off and wants to go out tonight. After 6.5 hours of trial on top of contested client negotiations . . . I had to veto.  I only had the witness on the stand for five minutes, and argued five, but trials are just tough, and prepping for that took me over 20 hours (I got everything my client wanted).  I am exhausted.  

The hope is to chat over a beer on my back porch, then a walk or just to fall asleep watching a movie.

And GC I know you will appreciate this: tomorrow evening I am headed to Parrish.  Hello strawberry basil martini and zuni roll.

Have a wonderful time.  If you like blueberries and it's still there, try the blueberry fields martini.  It's my new favorite.

I'm glad you had a nice birthday.  Good choice on Pho Republique.  I think we probably like all the same restaurants.  That was awesome that your gf could help out.  How did the trial go?
