Pregnant after a Loss

re: DH weirded out by belly during sex

I just want to say that I'm so glad to see that other women have husbands who feel this way, too!

I'm not the least bit offended by the fact that my husband just can't bring himself to have sex when his son is right there - I feel weirded out by it, too. DH thinks my belly is totally beautiful, and as I said below, we're more lovey and affectionate than ever, even though we don't really have sex anymore while I'm pregnant.

Seeing all the posts on 3rd tri about how many couples are still having it multiple times a week - I always think, wow, are we the only ones who can't get past the weirdness?

Glad to know we're not alone. :) And again, as I said below - we just don't think it's that big of a deal - it's only temporary!

  • My DH was weirded out by the belly/baby in the thrid tri too. It got to the point where we stopped for a while (due to that and me feeling very un-sexy) and only started again when we were trying to get DD out! lol I think it's totally common, and we put too much pressure on ourselves to keep being "good" wives during this time.

  • This is probably TMI but my DH is weirded out by baby belly AND my lady parts. The other night he happened to check things out down there and said "woah! That sure looks different!" Way to make me feel good DH! LOL, needless to say I don't think we'll be having sex again til way after the baby is born and that's actually a-ok with me!
  • I haven't had ANY sex drive this pregnancy, but we went ahead and did it the other night anyway. DH didn't say anything about it, but I was totally weirded out by the baby being "right" there. I can't help but think "Can she feel anything?" or "Can she hear us?" Ugh, so weird! lol.

  • The worst is when we're fooling around and he goes into a kicking frenzy.  It's over if that happens!
