Got my fert report this morning and feeling a little down about it. Out of the 9 eggs, 7 were ICSI'd, 4 fertilized, and 3 are normal and growing. The other 2 immature ones caught up today and were ICSI'd today, so we will find out tomorrow if they made it.
I am trying not to be pessimistic, but it is tough since my last IVF we had 7 eggs, 7 fertilized, 2 transferred and 5 frozen. But then again, that was a BFN so maybe there is still hope this time.
Anyone have success stories where they didn't start out with the best possible fertilization reports and still got their BFP? Thanks for the encouragement.
Re: Can I hear IVF success stories with poor fert reports?
I had 8 eggs retrieved--5 were mature. 1 was immature but matured n culture that day, so 6 eggs were ICSI'd in all. 4 fertilized, and 3 made it to blastocyst.
We transferred one embryo on Day 5, froze two, and I got pregnant.
I know how nervewracking it is to face low numbers, but hang in there for the next few days (easier said than done). It can definitely work!! Good luck!
I am thankful every day for my miracle after infertility.
And thrilled to be pregnant again after FET!
2 chem preg, 4 failed IUIs, 2 canc IVFs, 2 BFN IVFs, IVF #5 = BFP!!!

They retrieved 16 eggs from me, 12 were mature. We did ICSI on all 12 and only 6 fertilized. Of the six, 3 were grade 2 (on a 1-5 scale, 1 being the best). They put two of the grade 2s back and none of the remaining made it to freeze. While not terrible, my fert report was a disappointment and, for this reason and others, I was certain that our cycle was not a sucess. . . boy, was I wrong!
Best of luck!
I had 7 retrieved, 4 were mature and ICSI'd, 2 fertilized and 1 stuck!!
Good luck!!
11 eggs retrieved from just one ovary...they could not get to the other ovary because I was not doing well under the anesthesia. Out of the 11, only 5 were mature and ICSI'd. Only one fertilized and was transferred on day 3. I had ZERO hope for us and now I am almost 17 weeks pregnant! Good luck!
Both of my cycles were awful, but I'll give you the full breakdown:
IVF #1: 21 retrieved, 19 mature, 9 fertilized with ICSI, 3 blasts on day 5 (2 transfered, 1 frozen)
IVF #2: 26 retrieved, 14 mature, 6 fertilized with ICSI, 3 fair/poor blasts on day 5 (all transfered)
I got pregnant both times with twins (fraternal) but lost my first pair at 6w3d. I was diagnosed with MTHFR and this time with baby aspirin and Lovenox I've done pretty good. It is completely possible to have awful fertilization rates and get pregnant.
I only had 5 eggs retrieved, all of which were mature - all 5 were ICSI'd, only 4 fertilized - 1 of the 4 was too poor to transfer, of the 3 remaining one was excellent, one was good and the last one was average. We transfered all three. We are pg with a singleton
