If you went to Cornell, did they accept your insurance or did you pay OOP?
I live in NYC and was thinking of switching to them, but they only take United and Oxford insurance and I have BCBS.
Do you know what the deal is with their insurance acceptance? Someone told me that individual doctors will accept certain kinds of insurance but for any procedures the clinic itself only accepts United and Oxford?
Thanks.

Re: Cornell Ladies
I actually was under the impression that they don't accept any insurance and that you have to pay OOP and then get reimbursed from your insurance company. At least that's what they told us when we met with their financial person. Or maybe that is just with our insurance company?
Our insurance covered the Dr Goldslaugh but unfortunately they billed under the name Cornell or whatever, so our insurance refused to pay. We then decided to go elsewhere.
Good Luck!
This is correct - we did pay up front but were reimbursed....although I did not need to pay for meds first that was automatically covered. Sorry.
Same with me. We paid up front and then submitted, but, it was out of network, so, we didn't get full coverage. Also, I did estrogen priming, which my insurance considered "experiemental" so we didn't get any reimbursement for that.
hey patchen! how are you? So as you know I was cornell and BCBS. Everything is not OOP there. The drs accepted bcbs that I went to and I never paid more than a copay or the coinsurance (that is in place with my insurance) my drugs were covered and in fact, my IUIs were covered. The glitch with Cornell and BCBS is that the embryology lab and the IVF are not covered since they are billed under the practice. But then you are only paying for the sperm washing (for the IUI) If your dr does the IUI procedure, that procdure is covered. If your dr. can't be there that day, they offered to arrange for another BCBS dr do my IUI. For IVF we ended up paying for 70% of it for the same reasons - they bill under the practice. However, since they do it at Cornell NY Presbyterian some of the IVF was covered since the hospital is covered (my anesthesiologist, OR room fees etc)
PM me if you have any questions, since I am now finally through this and the bills have been sent checked and payed, I have the low down.
