party location help

I'm trying to think of a place (preferably free or low cost) to have DS's 1st birthday party. We could have it at our house, but the thought of having 25-30 people in my house freaks me out. I thought maybe a nice park with a pavillion and tables (it will be late September, so hopefully not too hot). I want something that is fun for the few kids that will be there (about 8-10 ranging in age from 1 month to 12), but also conducive for the adults. We'll be having beer, wine and appetizer type foods for the adults, and snacks, cake and juice for the kids. Does anyone know of a nice park or clubhouse type place that this might work? If all else fails, I just have it at my house and take a bottle of Xanax. : ) Oh, FWIW, I live in the Allen/McKinney/Frisco area. Thanks!

  • We had K's party at a park at the beginning of May and it worked out well. Just make sure you have a rain plan just in case. His was almost rained out. Call your local parks and rec. department. If you're not sure if you have one, just call your city offices and ask. We didn't have to pay anything to reserve the park and pavilion.

Ditto this.  I live down the street from the park that I booked for DS's B-Day that is early October & it was free.

    Good luck!

This place has really nice pavilions, a bathroom, and playground.
