hi, ? about a Subchorionic hematoma

hello all,

I have a Subchorionic hemorrhage that they found at 7 weeks. I was checked with another u/s again at 12 weeks and it was still there. My midwife wanted me to go on bed rest but as a single mom with number three on the way, i just can't. I understand her point, i do, but no one is going to pay my rent but me. I'm a forlift driver so all i really do is drive around all day.  My midwife is clearly mad at this. She is only talking about my work and what i should be doing. She didn't tell me the size of hematoma or if it's gotten alot worse even though i've ask. She just keeps saying i should be on bed rest. i asked if they where going to do a follow-up ultrasound. She said "what's the point if your not going to do what i say? At the my last appt. at 13 weeks she didn't even check for the baby's heartbeat. She said to come back in four weeks.  I have bad cramping to the point i can't walk about 3-4 times a day for the past week. i called and talk to a nurse and she said she's let my midwife know and to take it easy.  I'm worried because she doesn't seem to care. i'm not sure if i should try to see a different midwife or just request a sooner appt. Any suggestions? thanks

  • It sounds like you need to chat w/ another midwife.  I had a couple SCH's and they worked themselves out.  Unfortunatley, one let loose after DH and I had sex and I bled a heavy bleed.  I went to the ER b/c I thought I was miscarrying, but it was all OK.  IT just matters where the SCH is.  One of mine was just in the uterus and another was behind the placenta.

If you're super crampy and can't walk, and you're getting backtalk, I think it's time to see your Dr. and not a midwife.  Just my opinion.

I second this.  Time for a doctor.  Your midwife clearly doesn't know how to handle a subchrorionic hematoma.
